After a planning phase of over ten years and after 23 months of construction, the new viewing platform – the Königsweg – above the 118-metre-high Königsstuhl on the island of Rügen, was opened on 22 April 23.
Weighing almost 400 tonnes, the elliptical skywalk floats above the chalk cliff in the national park in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Our employees were significantly involved in this mega-project above the Baltic Sea and the colleagues from the Stralsund branch, Ms Ines Hohnstein and Mr Jens-Uwe Preuß, were on site for the last workplace inspection. “We are looking forward to new, exciting projects in the north” said Ines Hohnstein during the tour. The Skywalk was then duly opened by the Minister President, Ms Manuela Schwesig.
